NCT, an acronym for Neo Culture Technology, is a South Korean boy group under SM Entertainment. They are best known for being able to have an unlimited number of members and sub-units.
The group first debuted the rotational sub-unit NCT U on April 9, 2016 with the singles "The 7th Sense" and "WITHOUT YOU".
The next sub-unit to debut was the fixed sub-unit NCT 127 on July 7, 2016 with their self titled mini album NCT #127.
The third sub-unit to debut was NCT DREAM on August 24, 2016 with the digital single "Chewing Gum". The sub-unit was to have a graduation system that would be later removed in 2020.
They debuted the project group NCT 2018 with the release of their album NCT 2018 EMPATHY.
Their Chinese based sub-unit, WayV, debuted on January 17, 2019 with the digital EP The Vision.
They debuted the project group NCT 2020 with the release of their album NCT RESONANCE Pt.1.
They debuted the project group NCT 2021 with the release of their album Universe.
The sub-unit NCT DOJAEJUNG debuted on April 17, 2023 with the mini album Perfume.
LUCAS left NCT and WayV on May 10, 2023, after being on hiatus for almost two years.
SHOTARO and SUNGCHAN left NCT and NCT U to debut in SM's new boy group RIIZE.
They launched the project group NCT 2023 on August 18, 2023 with the release of their album Golden Age.
They announced that they would be debuting the sub-unit NCT WISH consisting of 6 new members. This would be the last sub-unit of NCT and no more members would be added.
TAEIL left NCT due to charges of criminal cases related to sexual offenses.
