- KUN was a trainee for 3 years.
- He was accepted to SM Entertainment through the 2015 Guangzhou SM Global Audition, China.
- KUN was introduced as an SMROOKIES member on December 18, 2015.[1]

- He was a normal Chinese student who had recorded several clips of him singing and doing magic tricks. When he was about to audition, he didn’t receive the email from SM and it is needed to audition so he looked on Weibo if there are some who received the email and one receiver sent his for KUN. He was first featured in the Chinese version of Without You by NCT U in 2016 but he was officially introduced on 2018 and became the leader of NCT’s Chinese counterpart, Weishen V or WayV as the leader and main vocalist of the group.
