Training/childhood

• JOHNNY was a trainee for 4-5 years.
  • He was accepted to SM Entertainment through the 2007 Chicago SM Global Audition in September.
  • He was a trainee for around 8 years. He only trained during the summers in 2008–2012 until he became a fulltime trainee when he graduated high school in 2013.

• Sang the Church song, Hosanna while wearing his earphones, he was accepted but had to go back and forth from Chicago to South Korea to continue his studies also spending his school breaks to train in SM, he was trained together with the EXO members and was supposed to debut with EXO-M and learned the Chinese language but he then debuted as a member of NCT on 2016 through NCT 127’s song LIMITLESS.
